What is GPSoC?

As part of Jeremy Hunt’s plans for delivering a paperless NHS by 2018, HSCIC launched the GP System of Choice (GPSoC) Framework Agreement to help GPs get the best out of their clinical systems by improving interoperability, allowing easier access to third party systems and, crucially, promoting digital engagement.

What is the new GPSoC contract?

The new GP Systems of Choice (GPSoC) contract is a framework agreement through which GPs, CCGs and other NHS organisations in England can procure goods and services from accredited suppliers. The new contract replaces the old GPSoC contract which ended in March 2014. What are the benefits of GPSoC?

The framework provides you with a way to procure services for your practices from approved and assured suppliers with innovative solutions designed to benefit patients and the NHS. By choosing MJog, there are lots of benefits to the GPSoC contract, including:

How will the roll out work?

The new GPSoC contract consists of three frameworks from which products and services can be procured under. MJog is providing CCGs and GP Practices with services under Lot 2 which is for Additional GP IT services.

What are we providing in Lot 2?

Through Lot 2, your practice can choose to order from a variety of services which MJog offer that are approved to interoperate with the clinical systems through an accredited interface. We’re offering products which include:

MJog Premium is a patient messaging solution with quick and easy installation, for rapid deployment to practices. It allows two way communications (via various channels including SMS) to increase your efficiency and appointment availability through confirmation messages, and allowing cancellations from patients; health awareness campaigns to improve management of chronic diseases and simplifying your processes to automate systems; reducing postal costs by switching to digital communications.
The extra services below are available as costed add-ons to MJog Premium (these are not available without MJog Premium).
MJog Voice increases the coverage of your patient population to almost 100% with automated voice calls to patient landlines and mobiles. Popular with patients who do not use SMS, MJog Voice can help increase access as the patient can confirm attendance via their telephone keypad.
MJog Email enables you to deliver messages which may require longer, more detailed information (e.g. medication advice or advising a patient that their prescription is ready with advice). MJog Email is a convenient way to conduct patient surveys including the Friends and Family Test.
MJog Text In allows patients a quick and convenient way to contact you by using a dedicated text number for your practice.  By adding this number to your MJog subscription, you can publish to make all patients aware of this convenient and low cost method to get in touch 24/7.

Will practices see any change to services currently being provided by MJog?

We’re continually working to improve our services and the new GPSoC framework will help us with these improvements. In addition, our IGSoC rating of 100% and our ISO 27001:2013 accreditation means that you can expect the best practice standards for data security. The availability and system response times are constantly being measured, evaluated and improved, meaning we can provide practices with a more robust and resilient system. We are focused in providing clear access and visibility in the way we deliver our services to your practices.

Will there be any changes to the Service Level Agreement (SLA) targets under the new contract?

The SLA targets are generally the same for the new GPSoC framework. Our processes have been made more agile as we work towards a triage of Support for practices and self- support through a dedicated Support Centre. We have revised Support guidelines so we can provide an assessment of impact and urgency of practice issues, assigning severity to those issues.
