  • With current changes to SMS services, EE have tied up with NHS England to ensure the seamless continuity of these services for Primary Care organisations from 1st July.

All CCG and CSU messaging activity will continue to be centrally funded by NHS England until 30th September.

By choosing to continue with the NHS England approved service from EE beyond this date you will benefit from Market leading rates for SMS from the UK’s leading mobile operator. Also, EE have the exclusive use of mobilenumber@sms.nhs.net, so there is no need for you reconfigure any of your systems.

This also applies to any GPSoC or other application providers that use login credentials to send EMAIL to SMS. These will continue to operate as they do today by sending tomobilenumber@sms.nhs.net.

If you want to avoid complex IT changes by continuing to use the sms.nhs.netdomain as well as secure market leading rates on behalf of your Practitioners, it will be possible to continue with EE’s SMS service beyond 30th September. EE will shortly provide instructions on how to sign up to extend your use of the EE SMS service after 30th September.

If you do have to pay for your SMS (from 30th September onwards), then make sure you take advantage of the best per segment rate in the market, and use the best Patient messaging service to send them!
